The Nike Kobe 5 Protro "X-Ray" draws its concept from the "Broken Not Beaten" campaign — specifically the Nike t-shirt Kobe Bryant wore that displayed an X-ray of his injured hand alongside his five championship rings. That imagery is reinterpreted here as a skeletal foot radiograph overlaid across the upper, rendered in graduating shades of Deep Royal Blue, Baltic Blue, and Glacier Blue that mirror the tones of an actual X-ray film.

Construction pairs synthetic and mesh materials on the upper with a Baltic Blue Swoosh outlined in white. The Protro platform brings updated performance internals — including a Cushlon midsole and Zoom Air cushioning — while preserving the low-profile silhouette of the original Kobe 5.
