The Nike Air Foamposite Pro debuted in 1997 as the sleeker counterpart to the Air Foamposite One, distinguished by its jeweled Swoosh on the midfoot panel and absence of Penny Hardaway branding. The silhouette was born from Nike's Advanced Product Engineering team, who developed Foamposite technology by injecting liquid polyurethane into a mold under heat and pressure to form a single-piece, seamless shell — a construction process so involved that each mold cost an estimated $750,000 to produce.

The "Sequoia" colorway — released August 16, 2018 — drapes the signature one-piece Foamposite upper in a deep forest green, with black accenting on the midfoot Swoosh, tongue, and throat, and Team Orange hits on the heel, tongue, and the small Swoosh logo near the toe. Underfoot, a black carbon fiber midfoot plate and a semi-translucent smokey black outsole round out the build, staying true to the model's hardwood roots.
