The Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Pure Platinum" debuted in March 2016 as the third installment in Nike's informal series of Air Yeezy 2-inspired Foamposite colorways. Inspired by the iconic Pure Platinum colorway of the Air Yeezy 2, the shoe carries on a design lineage that began with the "Solar Red" Foamposite Pro in 2014 and concluded with this Wolf Grey-based release.

The molded Foamposite upper is rendered in a light Pure Platinum grey, while faux snake-scale-textured Wolf Grey leather trims the collar and eyestay. Bright Crimson hits appear on the sock liner, tongue, and heel tab, and the glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole — a direct nod to the Air Yeezy 2's signature sole treatment — rounds out the build. A carbon fiber shank provides structural support underfoot, and Zoom Air cushioning powers the midsole.

The "Pure Platinum" completed what sneaker media widely called the "Yeezy Foamposite Trio," making it a culturally significant release within both the Foamposite and Nike basketball heritage canon.
