The Air Jordan 13 Retro "Starfish" is a January 2021 colorway of Michael Jordan's thirteenth signature shoe. The "Starfish" orange hue carries a well-known story: it references the orange, black, and white uniform colors of Stefanel Trieste, the Italian League basketball team Michael Jordan played for during a 1985 overseas exhibition game — the same narrative behind the iconic "Shattered Backboard" theme introduced on the Air Jordan 1 in 2015.
The upper pairs pockmarked white leather side panels with a Starfish suede mudguard, while an orange-embroidered Jumpman appears on the white leather tongue. A holographic panther-eye badge is set into the collar, and a carbon fiber shank plate runs through the outsole for structural stability — hallmarks of the AJ13 silhouette originally designed by Tinker Hatfield.
