Air Jordan 11 Retro "Playoffs Bred" (2019) — Style 378037-061
The Air Jordan 11 "Playoffs Bred" is one of the most storied silhouettes in sneaker history. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally worn by Michael Jordan during the Bulls' 72-10 regular-season campaign and 1996 NBA Playoffs, the black-and-red colorway became synonymous with Chicago's championship dynasty. The 2019 retro marks the fourth time Jordan Brand has brought this colorway back, and it addressed a longstanding community critique by raising the patent leather mudguard cut to more closely match the OG dimensions.
The upper combines a black ballistic mesh base with a high-cut glossy black patent leather mudguard — a material Jordan himself requested for its rigidity and on-court lockdown. Beneath the white Phylon midsole sits a full-length Air-sole unit paired with a carbon fiber midfoot shank plate, a first-of-its-kind technology on a Jordan model that reduced weight while resisting torsional flex during explosive cuts. A translucent Varsity Red outsole, red Jumpman on the lateral ankle, and embroidered "23" on the heel complete the Bulls-era palette.
