The Air Jordan 11 Retro Gamma Blue marks the first retro of this colorway since its original 2013 debut, making the 2025 release a long-awaited return. Part of Jordan Brand's celebration of the Air Jordan 11's 30th anniversary, it dropped on December 13, 2025, alongside eight other AJ11 colorways spanning Holiday 2025 and Spring 2026.

The Black/Gamma Blue/Varsity Maize color scheme covers a black ballistic mesh upper with a tonal patent leather mudguard — the first non-OG AJ11 colorway to feature an essentially all-black construction. The 2025 retro restores the higher-cut patent leather mudguard truer to Tinker Hatfield's original 1995 silhouette than the 2013 version carried. Gamma Blue appears on the embroidered Jumpman logo at the lateral collar and tongue, while Varsity Maize hits the "23" on the neoprene heel tab and the Jordan 11 text surrounding the tongue Jumpman. A black Phylon midsole rides above a translucent icy blue rubber outsole featuring herringbone traction pods and an exposed carbon fiber shank plate.

Unlike heritage colorways tied to Michael Jordan's on-court years, the Gamma Blue is a modern retro that broke the mold of Concord- and Space Jam-era releases and quickly earned cult-classic status on the strength of its design alone.
