The Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred Reimagined is a 35th-anniversary tribute to Tinker Hatfield's original 1989 design, part of Jordan Brand's ongoing Reimagined series that revisits iconic colorways with updated construction. Released on February 17, 2024 — Michael Jordan's birthday — the silhouette retains the Black/Fire Red/Cement Grey/Summit White color block of the legendary "Bred" AJ4 while re-engineering the shape, fit, and feel back to original 1989 specifications.

The defining change is the material swap: the traditional nubuck upper is replaced by a premium full-grain leather upper, delivering a cleaner surface and a profile that draws on the slimmer, more angular last seen on the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4. Cement Grey plastic eyelets, classic support wings, and mesh panels carry over from the original design, while Nike Air branding returns to the heel tab, outsole, and insoles — a detail straight from the 1989 release. A red Jumpman and "Flight" script appear on the tongue tag, and a grey and white rubber midsole finishes the look with a red outsole underneath.

This Grade School (GS) version carries style code FQ8213-006 and shares the same colorway story and construction updates as the men's release, making it one of the most significant Bred AJ4 releases since the 30th-anniversary retro in 2019.
