The Air Jordan 13 'Flint' is one of the most storied colorways in the entire Air Jordan catalog. First released on February 14, 1998, the colorway arrived during Michael Jordan's sixth and final championship season with the Chicago Bulls — making it one of the last original Jordan colorways directly tied to that dynasty. The 2026 retro marks the fifth overall release of the Flint colorway, following prior runs in 2005, 2010, and 2020.

Designer Tinker Hatfield built the Air Jordan 13 around Michael Jordan's 'Black Cat' nickname, embedding feline references into every layer of the shoe. The paw-shaped outsole pods mirror a panther's paw for multi-directional grip, while the holographic cat's eye near the lateral ankle shifts and glows with the light — two of the most conceptually distinctive details on any silhouette in the Jordan Brand lineup. Underfoot, a Zoom Air cushioning unit and carbon fiber shank deliver the performance foundation Hatfield originally engineered for Jordan's explosive, predatory game.

The 'Flint' colorway takes its nickname from the shade of suede used across the upper. A navy reflective 3M mesh overlay anchors the palette, contrasted by Flint Grey suede accents, crisp white leather on the toe box and tongue, and University Blue hit on the Jumpman logo. Though Jordan himself never wore this colorway on the court, it became well-known through a generation of college standouts who did.
