Air Jordan 12 Retro 'Playoffs' (2022)
The Air Jordan 12 'Playoffs' carries one of the most storied legacies in the Jordan Brand lineup. Originally released in 1997, the Playoffs colorway was worn by Michael Jordan during the Bulls' championship postseason run — alternated game-to-game alongside the iconic 'Flu Game' colorway during the NBA Finals. The silhouette itself debuted in 1996, designed by Tinker Hatfield with dual inspiration: the radiating lines of the Japanese rising-sun flag, translated into stitched leather panels fanning from the forefoot, and the structured silhouette of a 19th-century women's dress boot.
The 2022 retro (CT8013-006) faithfully reproduces the original build: a black tumbled leather upper, white lizard-textured mudguard, red Jumpman embroidery on the tongue, and red heel detailing with silver eyelets. A woven Jordan label and '23' text appear at the heel. Underfoot, a white outsole sits atop a carbon fiber shank plate, with full-length Zoom Air cushioning — a first for the Jordan line when the AJ12 originally launched. The 2022 release marked the model's fourth retro return, following previous drops in 2004, 2012, and a Low version in 2017.
